Apoptosis
An intrinsic and required property of tumors is the evasion of cell-death signals allowing the inappropriate survival of abnormal cells. Identifying factors that control susceptibility to apoptotic signals will be critical to the development of effective therapeutics for cancer. We have a specific interest in the regulation of IAP-1 (Inhibitor of Apoptosis 1) in HER2/Neu-induced breast cancers.
